Judy Cohen owner and teacher at The Paint Box, has been working in the fashion industry for over 18 years. Judy has a BFA and BA in both Psychology and Philosophy from Boston University, with a minor in Fine Art. She continued to study Art, Illustration, and Design at Parsons School of Design in New York, and received her BFA. She began her career working while in school for Isaac Mizrahi. Over the years she continued on and worked for Donna Karan, Jill Stuart, Jonathan Simchai, Daryl K, and Calvin Klein, until she began working for Ralph Lauren.
Judy has been working side by side with Mr. Lauren for 17 years. She designed and Illustrated both the Men's and Women's Purple Label Collection. She worked on concept to creation, to the final runway presentation. In addition to clothing, Judy designed shoes and accessories for the entire women's division through her illustrations. She has designed several gowns for the Emmy, Grammy, and Oscar awards for celebrity clients such as :Oprah Winfrey, Angelina Jolie, Demi Moore, Jennifer Gardner, Heidi Klum, and many more. Her gowns have been exhibited in several Museum Collections, such as the Goddess Exhibit at the MET, in New York. Her sketches have been published in several of Mr. Lauren's books, a film documentary, and in many magazines and newspapers.
Judy does consulting, designing, styling photo shoots, and illustrating for many companies such as :Rolex, WWD,Coca Cola, Better Homes and Gardens Magazine, Jonathan Simchai Inc, Suma C Inc, Defyance Inc, Revlon, Origins, Courvoisier, and many others. She presently resides in New Jersey and is raising three beautiful boys ,which are the loves of her life.
